We are delighted to be welcoming Todor Marinov onto the RLSCC Committee as our Kit & Clothing Representative after he volunteered at the Club AGM in October 2024. To help us all get to know a little more about Todor, and his role, he's shared a bit about himself as part of our Meet the Committee series.

Committee Position:

Kit and clothing rep

How long have you been on the committee?

Just a couple of months, since November 2024.

What does your role entail?

I keep the club members looking sharp (and maybe a bit more comfortable and a little bit faster). I handle the designing, sourcing and ordering of the club kit, any other RLSCC merchandise and maybe even some special requests.

What is your Cycling discipline?

Mainly road at the moment. Back in Bulgaria I used to ride a lot of cross-country MTB and I’m trying to get back into it.

What do you ride?

Recently upgraded to a Giant TCR Pro1 for the road. For the trails I have something probably no one has heard of – a RAM HT1.

How long have you been with the club?

Since 2015

What do you enjoy about the RLSCC?

Meeting so many like-minded people and forming lasting friendships has been incredible. Sure, anyone can ride solo, but the camaraderie makes it so much more special. It’s the shared laughs, support, and memorable moments that really make the ride.

What is your most significant cycling achievement?

I spent a year living in Slovakia, and while I was there, I got to take part in a few sportives across Slovakia and Austria. If you ever get the chance to visit either country, I highly recommend it! Though I may not have the build for it, I’d still love to tackle some of the iconic climbs in the French and Italian mountains.

Who's is your cycling hero?

There are so many incredible cyclists to choose from! I admire Chris Boardman for his versatility— transitioning from a successful pro career to becoming a technical advisor for Team GB and founding his own bike company. Sir Chris Hoy is inspiring not just for his achievements on the bike, but also for his resilience.

I’m also a huge fan of multi-discipline riders like Wout van Aert, Mathieu van der Poel, and Tom Pidcock, who excel across different terrains. And, of course, Tadej Pogacar, who keeps astonishing everyone with his talent and adaptability.

What cycling event or discipline would you like to have a go at?

As I mentioned before, I’d like to get back into mountain biking again. Other than this I would love to give track cycling a go.

What is your cycling mantra?

“Embrace the climb, enjoy the view" because every tough challenge on the bike (and in life) has its rewards.
